Scheduled courses and events are provided in the Chilterns, Buckinghamshire, and just a short drive from neighbouring home counties Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire, or a train ride from London on the Metropolitan or Chiltern Line, the local station being Chalfont & Latimer.

Woohoo summer is here - don't blink or you'll miss it. I've just been chatting on Three Counties Radio, talking about the lovely Chiltern Open Air Museum @chilternoam, and their Heritage Crafts weekend, it's this weekend, there'll be loads of crafting demonstrations, and yes I'll be there too carving spoons and giving a few away to kids that are curious. Get outside, it's lovely, leave work early and enjoy time outside, and maybe even visit us at the weekend. Wishing you a lovely weekend folks 💚

There's a south westerly breeze, bringing in some much need warmth, and for a moment I thought the sun was breaking through. Today will be a whittling and woodcraft kind of day - carving butter knives, spatulas and spoons. But now it's to e for a brew - wishing you a wonderful day 💚

Summer Wellbeing Social at the Chiltern Open Air Museum @chilternoam - nice to be invited back, we were baking a variety of loaves. It's part of a programme designed to promote health and wellbeing for older folks who are experiencing social isolation, anxiety or depression. A lovely group to work with, all involved in the making, I just had to make sure they were all nicely baked, with no soggy or burnt bottoms!

Yes it's a bit damp outside, but mild none the less with warmth from the west, and a cosy campfire sure helps brighten the day. And so I thought I'd slow things down a little so we can appreciate the flickering flames. Wishing you a lovely day 💚

Update: today's students helped with making a figure four trap (no animals involved), mugs of hot chocolate, and food preparations amd cooking of chicken, onions, and bell peppers, wrapped in toasted tortillas with sweet chilli 😋 yummy 😋

Not a bad day of learning outside the classroom - it's good to work with small groups where you can make a memorable difference 😊 (well mostly 🤞)

Split a few logs ready for #yestival2024 that is at the wonderful Big Sky Hideaway @bigskyoasis I've split some cherry, nice hardwood that'll burn for a while, ash that will burn a little quicker when needed, and lovely larch, the resin in this woods means it will spit a little, but it does provide the coolest sound for a campfire; with plenty of snaps, crackles, and pops 😊 and yes, split with my favourite axes made by @gransforsbruk So looking forward to this lovely gathering 💚
